Seminar on “East Asian Cooperation: Progress, Prospect and Policy Issues" was successfully held at China's Foreign Affairs University on October 27, 2007. This meeting was hosted by NEAT China——East Asian Studies Center, China's Foreign Affairs University. More than 40 Scholars and experts from Peking University, Tsinghua University, CASS, China Institute of International Studies, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, Ministry of Commerce of China, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Xiamen University, Institute of East Asian Studies of Shandong and China's Foreign Affairs University participated in the meeting. There were 3 topics for discussion:
  1. Assessment on the progress and current situation of East Asian cooperation.
  2. Problems and prospects in East Asian cooperation.
  3. China's strategy and policy in East Asian cooperation.
The opening session was chaired by Prof. Qin Yaqing, Executive Vice President of China Foreign Affairs University. Amb. Wu Jianmin, NEAT Co-interim Coordinator and President of the China Foreign Affairs University gave a keynote speech. Based on the three topics, scholars and experts had heated, practical and fruitful discussions.
