The 5th Annual Conference and 7th Country Coordinators' Meeting of the Network of East Asian Think-tanks (NEAT) was successfully held on 20th – 22nd August 2007 in Singapore. Participants included representatives from 10 ASEAN member countries, China, Japan and ROK. The Theme of the meetings was “East Asia Cooperation: Towards Sustainable Development and Prosperity." Discussions were positive and practical. The meetings reviewed and finalized 6 Working Group reports.
 
The 6th Network of East Asian Think-tanks (NEAT) Country Coordinators' Meeting was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 20-21 November 2006. This meeting was co-hosted by NEAT Singapore and NEATCambodia. Nine ASEAN member countries (Indonesia was absent) plus China, Japan and Korea participated in the meeting. The meeting was conducted in an enthusiastic, friendly and practical manner.
 
This meeting has confirmed NEAT Singapore as the host for the 5th NEAT Annual Conference. NEATChina, Japan and Singapore have presented the action plans of their NEAT working groups respectively. The meeting also discussed the action plans of NEAT working groups for the next year, and the future working mechanisms of NEAT.
 
The 5th NEAT Country Coordinators Meeting was held on 21 and 23 of September 2006 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 
The meeting has approved 6 working group reports:
  1. Trade-FDI-Technology Linkages in East Asia
  2. East Asian Investment Cooperation
  3. East Asian Financial Cooperation
  4. Intra-regional Exchange Rate Stability & Prevention of Financial Crisis in East Asia
  5. Energy Security Cooperation in East Asia
  6. Overall Architecture of Community Building in East Asia (Regional Architectures for Non-traditional Security and Environment Cooperation in East Asia)
 
The 4th NEAT Country Coordinators Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,13 Dec.2005
 
There were 5 sessions

The 33rd Network of East Asia Think Tanks Country Coordinators Meeting (NEAT CCM)

The Philippine Institute for Development Studies, in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs- Office of ASEAN Affairs, University of the Philippines- Asian Center, Foreign Service Institute, and selected Philippine experts on regional integration, will be hosting the 33rd NEAT Country Coordinators' Meeting on April 20, 2021, 12:30-16:00 H (GMT/UTC +8H) via Cisco WebEx.
 
Five (5) country coordinators expressed their intent to submit and present working group proposals which aim to contribute to the development of the region. NEAT Philippines, as the host, wishes to strengthen the research collaboration among the APT think-tanks to produce studies which will aid the region in recovering from the effects the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the working group will be presented to the public on September 2021 and will be submitted to the APT track-one mechanism.
